A New Doula's Journey

Hello there! Welcome to my blog and thank you for taking the time to read and learn about me. My name is Paige, I am a twenty-one year old from Ottawa, Ontario. I was born in Newfoundland and I am Mi'kmaq first nations. I think of myself as a feminist and absolutely 100% wish to make a woman feel empowered. I think of myself as gentle and caring, as well as outgoing and enthusiastic. I am extremely passionate about labour, childbirth and femininity. Despite my young age, I am eager in all circumstances and am passionate about the wellbeing of women and families a-like. I am a very new doula, and still learning lots of new things. Since I was in high school, I knew that I wanted to do something in maternity and child-birth. I did my high school co-op with a doula and absolutely loved it. When I finished university I decided that's exactly what I wanted to do with my life. As soon as I did I went out and got the books I needed and registered for all the classes. I am more than eager to be able to get out there and learn everything there is to learn and help make a woman's birth experience a fantastic one. I also learned a little about full-spectrum doula work, and decided that's something I would be eager to help women with. My ultimate goal is to make a woman feel empowered and legitimate in any decision they make. I am willing to support any and all decisions and make the experience feel comfortable and empowering.
